Following the release of their debut album ‘DELIRIA‘ on Future Archive Recordings, the downtempo electronic duo ERA C is gearing up to release a string of Edits/Reworks this summer. Enlisting their other projects and long-time friends and collaborators to reimagine songs from the debut album, ERA C – composed of Sofia Insua of Easy Easy and Mirza Ramic of Arms and Sleepers – will wrap up the ‘DELIRIA‘ album campaign as they look to the future with new music and post-pandemic touring.

The second Edit of the summer is a melancholy guitar interpretation of the first track from the album titled ‘take me from you’. Transposing the lead vocal melody onto acoustic guitar brings out unexpected emotions and creates a mellow, nostalgic piece. A reflective track for the late summer nights, Richard Houghten manages to extract the emotional depth of the original tune and maintain its intensity through just one acoustic instrument.

Barcelona-based production duo PALLADIAN teams up with Paris-based producer HAELIUM for a rare collaborative treat. ‘Freckles’ combines signature elements from both artists, creating a smooth and timeless downtempo track that teases at a dancefloor feel and tempo. Both artists are coming off of their debut EPs and pushing into 2021 with new music off of strong growth and press coverage in 2020. ‘Freckles’ will be released via indie electronic label Future Archive Recordings on June 04, 2021.

Downtempo electronic duo ERA C has shared the Arms and Sleepers edit of their latest single DELIRIA on the 9th of April via Future Archive Recordings. ERA C is the collaborative project of Mirza Ramic from the well-known Arms and Sleepers duo and Sofia Insua of the established band Easy Easy.

The original single was mixed by Sun Glitters and is the title track of their upcoming debut album which will be released on the 28th of May. Sofia Insua was born in Guatemala and is currently based in Berlin, Germany along with Mirza Ramic, who was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina and lived most of his adult life in Boston, USA before moving to Germany. The duo draw inspiration from the likes of Oneohtrix Point Never, Grouper and Low. The edit of DELIRIA calls to mind the likes of Bjork, Massive Attack and FKA Twigs.

Sinking the original chilled melody of DELIRIA deep into a bed of trip-hop and ethereal wonder, Arms and Sleepers add old school static reverberations to the single and lighten the bass lines, calling to a summer evening in the wild. Sonically echoing the weightless and pillowed thoughts accompanied by a confused mental state, the song is gentle with an emphasis placed on the ethereal vocals. 

Speaking of the edit, Max of Arms and Sleepers tells us: “After listening to the original song a few times, I wondered what it would sound like if it were reimagined as a song to listen to while speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway in the early evening in a convertible with the cool ocean wind combing through your hair. So, I took it on that drive and here we are.”

Electronic duo Ghost Creek returns with an alternate edit of their recent single ‘Night Fog’. Reworked by UK producer Little People, the new edit takes a turn away from the soulful indie electronic original, pushing towards an IDM and hypnotic electronic direction. Inspired by beat-making, samples, as well as forward leaning electronic production, Little People has a distinct sound throughout his catalog, which shines through on his edit of ‘Night Fog’. With sonic nods from his last LP ‘Landloper’, the alternate edit fuses cleanly with Ghost Creek’s soulful approach.

Fusing electronic music with contemporary R&B, Ghost Creek’s sound has a fresh and distinct quality to it, accomplishing an aesthetic that is truly their own. The collaborative project between future bass producer DMVU and vocalist Kala, Ghost Creek is a departure from both of their styles as solo artists. Coming via Future Archive Recordings in May 2021, long breaths that lead to silence will be the group’s debut EP, with Night Fog serving as the lead single. Dripping with hazy, buttery production from DMVU, vocalist Kala’s falsetto guides the listener through a melancholy yet triumphant journey about coming to terms with death and understanding that there is comfort in subjecting oneself to something bigger than life.

To celebrate the one year anniversary of his full-length album ‘Sunset In The Deep End‘ (released in Feb. 2020 via Future Archive Recordings), Yppah will be releasing a collection of remixes from friends and labelmates. The 5-track remix EP will feature fresh renditions of some of the album’s original tracks from Arms and Sleepers, CNJR, Natasha Kmeto, PALLADIAN, and Little People. The release will bring to a close an album campaign that saw Yppah starting a new chapter in his professional career: switching record labels, releasing his first full-length LP since 2015, garnering critical acclaim with live performances on KEXP and a #1 charting album on CMJ, and embarking on a world tour which was unfortunately cut short due to the pandemic.

ERA C, the new project from Sofia Insua of the Guatemalan indie group Easy Easy and Mirza Ramic of the American electronic duo Arms and Sleepers, released their single FÁCIL last summer. The group now returns with an EP centered around the single, with an instrumental version of the track, a remix by Yppah, and the new instrumental track resurrection. With a debut full-length album coming in May 2021, FÁCIL EP acts as a bridge to the launch of the official album campaign and serves as a refresher of the already released single and remix.

Following the latest full-length album, ‘I Can See The Church Burning Through The Binoculars‘, CNJR has been releasing alternate versions of some of the songs. The album’s lead track ‘The Destroyers‘ saw a string quartet release in November 2020, and now the experimental producer returns with the ‘Orchestral Edit‘.

Teaming up with Boris Sevastyanov, a composer from Ukraine, on the arrangement, a dark cinematic and dreamy edit emerged. Produced using a combination of organic instruments and midi instruments, ‘The Destroyers (Orchestral Edit)‘ is a unique and interesting change in direction for the CNJR catalog.

Future Archive Recordings artists Yppah and Natasha Kmeto team up for a short EP which features a song from each of their latest albums, as well as special remix versions. ‘Tree Ghost’ by Yppah was originally released as a part of ‘Future Archive, Vol. 1’ and again appears on Yppah’s 2020 full-length album ‘Sunset In The Deep End’. Natasha Kmeto’s remix of the song steers it away from the dreamy indie electronic space into a 90s era throwback dancefloor track. The EP also features ‘lagged’ by Natasha Kmeto, taken from her recent full-length album ‘you’ve never danced alone’. Yppah’s remix of the song sees the producer’s classic indie shoegaze sound shimmer through, offering a more relaxed and atmospheric version. All four tracks will drop via Future Archive Recordings on February 05.

Coming off of their debut year (2020), PALLADIAN will drop their first EP titled ‘Surfaces’ on Feb. 26 via Future Archive Recordings. A powerful combination of contemporary IDM & electronic, with a classic downtempo feel, PALLADIAN quickly turned heads following their first few singles. ‘Surfaces’ will feature these songs alongside two new tracks to round out their debut collection of songs. Living up to a COVID era release schedule, PALLADIAN has also been releasing rooftop and apartment setting live videos, all from their home base in Barcelona, Spain. Already seeing features among staple downtempo blogs and channels, as well as solid DSP numbers, PALLADIAN is a noteworthy new act to watch, and ‘Surfaces’ will surely find its place as a soon-to-be classic for the genre.
