The new full-length album from Thoma, titled Detroit, is now available for pre-order ahead of the April 26, 2019 release date. The 1st single No Resolution is officially out today, available for immediate download when you pre-order the album. Influenced by jazz, world music, house, and techno, Thoma is a project that grew out of a desire between producers and long-time friends Tristan de Liège (formerly Stratus) and Benjamin Hill (Askanse) to “bring together their creative abilities and challenge themselves beyond their solo efforts.” Relocating from a small island near Vancouver in British Columbia to Los Angeles, the duo recorded their debut full-length with an array of synths— with a strong focus on modular synthesis—samples, processed acoustic instruments, woodwinds, and upright bass. More recently, Benjamin moved to Detroit and new Thoma material was crafted there, drawing more on the techno and house roots that are so pervasive in the Detroit music scene.

Detroit officially releases on April 26, 2019 via Future Archive Recordings.

We are thrilled to announce the release of Verse/Versus, a new EP from Natasha Kmeto.

Natasha Kmeto is an electronic producer/vocalist dedicated to the art of emotional engagement. Writing, producing, and performing all her material, Natasha combines her sensuous voice with a dancefloor ethic, exuding a thoughtful physicality that rewards openness and vulnerability. Stylistically she explores the lines intersected by RnB, soul, and dance music, built using an electronic toolkit developed by years of discipline. She’s most at home when on stage, singing to her fans’ hearts and playing to their bodies.

Verse/Versus is Natasha’s first release in over two years. The EP explores themes of longing, desire, and the gray area of a romance felt but unexpressed. This is the first time Natasha has explored less synthesized instrumentation in her music, adding layers of bass guitar and saxophone to accent the influence of 80s post-punk. Verse/Versus is an EP made for the bedroom.

The single by the same name is officially out today, available for immediate download (along with another track, Oklahoma) when you pre-order the album. Rome in Reverse, the solo project of the Italian-born, Copenhagen-based artist Antonella Pacifico, made its debut in 2014 and quickly found its niche within the crowded electronic music scene. Following the release of her first full-length album Loop and Reverse in 2015, Pacifico caught the attention of the Luxembourg-based producer Victor Ferreira aka Sun Glitters, resulting in ongoing collaborations between the two artists. 2016 saw two releases, both produced by Ferreira—Northern Lights EP and Sun in Reverse split EP—accompanied by a European tour with Arms and Sleepers & Sun Glitters. In 2018, Pacifico released her second full-length album The Prestige, also produced by Ferreira, and made an appearance at Aarhus Recession Festival.

With her roots in southern Italy and Tuscany—and her formative years spent in Rome—Pacifico is a self-taught musician and producer, having played in a post-rock outfit before relocating to Denmark to focus on solo music production. The environment that Pacifico has carved out with Rome in Reverse is a melted collection of club dance music, blissed-out trance-techno, ambient dub, and dreamy trip-hop sounds driven by up/downtempo electronic beats and occasionally accompanied by her emotive vocals.

We’ve Been Here officially releases on March 29, 2019 via Future Archive Recordings.

ISV / MSS is the first glimpse off of the upcoming debut LP from CNJR (titled WSTLND). The two singles are a dark, emotive journey, rich in both sonic complexity and impassioned energy. The instrumentals are heavily electronic, but with elements of analog warmth, retro synths, and recorded instrumentation.

WSTLND is the debut LP from CNJR, coming June 7, 2019. Exploring the struggle to survive the human experience, the complexities of mental health and depression, and the alienation of being queer. WSTLND is a heavily emotive experience. CNJR combines complex electronic sounds, retro synthesizers, recorded instrumentation, and occasional vocals to uniquely create a dark electro/analog tapestry that draws listeners into an introspective experience.
