ERA C T NOD 1 is a new project from Sofia Insua of the Guatemalan group Easy Easy and Mirza Ramic of the American duo Arms and Sleepers. Debuting with the track ‘idk, idc’ on the Future Archive Recordings compilation ‘Future Archive, Vol. 2’ – alongside artists such as Yppah, Kognitif, il:lo, Michal Menert, Sun Glitters, and others – we are now happy to release their second single titled ‘FÁCIL’.
FÁCIL is based around a heavy layer of IDM-inspired synths that form the backdrop for Insua’s gentle yet determined vocals, sung in both English and Spanish. While Insua’s pop sensibilities shape the vocal delivery, Ramic’s long career in instrumental music is present in the experimental-minded composition. The result is a moody yet captivating sound that should appeal to both listeners of vocal-based music and those who prefer more experimental, instrumental-leaning compositions.
Natasha Kmeto announces her return, bringing her singular sound back to fans with the release of her third full-length album, “you’ve never danced alone”. The forthcoming album is her first full-length album release since 2015 and is due on September 25th, 2020.
Kmeto wrote, recorded, performed, engineered and mixed “you’ve never danced alone” in her studio in Portland, OR. It was mastered at Breakpoint Mastering in Portland, OR.
The album is composed of 11 tracks and ranges from bittersweet love songs like “nothing forever” and “she found me” to soulful dance tracks like “trust issues” and the title track “you’ve never danced alone”.
Since her last full-length release “Inevitable”, Kmeto’s sound remains emotionally driven yet more grounded and assured. The songs are inspired by major life changes including a divorce, finding new love, exploring sobriety and re-connecting with forgotten ancestry. Writes Kmeto: “This album is a snapshot of my life at a very tumultuous time… the album progresses as my life did… creating this helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself…”
Sonically, the album draws influence from minimal techno, house, IDM and dark wave. “I wanted to return to a more minimal style of composition, more reminiscent of my first album,” continues Kmeto. “I’ve always believed firmly in the power of negative space to really highlight what’s most exciting about sound and vibration.”
Each track has a unique story of its own but the album centers itself around what Kmeto has become known for: emotional, intimate and soulful music that roots itself in honest self-exploration.
CLD.RĀN is Victor Ferreira’s new adventure that steers toward all things glitchy. Ferreira’s new realms are based on digitally degraded, click n’ cut groove textures and artfully granular melody experimentation. It is a fresh outlook and a bit of fantasy for Ferreira‘s mind, taking a breather from his usual occupation as the head honcho of Sun Glitters.
Following up on the debut EP, which was released in October 2019, and which saw significant coverage on BBC Radio, Ferreira is continuing to widen and explore his more experimental music leanings through the CLD.RĀN project. The signature glitchy and distorted sounds help create an abstract flavor that is uniquely Ferreira’s.
The lead single /ˈsʌɪklɪŋ/ (aka ‘cycling’) continues this trend: it is simultaneously a relaxing and an unsettling piece of music that urges the listener to embrace its specific mood. For admirers of experimental and electronic avant-garde music, CLD.RĀN’s latest offering will be a treat for the ears and the soul.
The latest signing to the burgeoning Future Archive Recordings imprint, Easy Easy are a four-piece band hailing from Guatemala consisting of Rodolfo Madrid (Guitar), Walter Monterroso (Keyboard and Bass), Gerardo Flores (Drums), and Sofía Insua (Vocals).
The group combines influences ranging from R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, to Indie Rock, while also playing with languages—English and Spanish—resulting in a truly unique sonic signature. >Easy Easy released their latest EP ‘5’ in April 2020. ‘5 Remixes’ is the extension of the EP, featuring remixes by Blue Foundation, Blockhead, Sun Glitters, CNJR, and Natasha Kmeto.

Future Archive Recordings is excited to release ‘Sloh Remixes’, featuring three alternate versions of songs from il:lo’s latest EP ‘Sloh’. The release features a new remix by Edamame (Loci Records, Gravitas Recordings, Abandon Building Records) that gives ‘Cami’ a deeper, more introspective sound, while sneaking in a heavier beat signature of Edamame’s sound. ‘Sloh Remixes’ also includes two previously released remixes from Frameworks (Loci Records) and CNJR (Future Archive Recordings). Frameworks remixes il:lo’s breakout success ‘Alma’, while CNJR remixes the other single from ‘Sloh’, titled ‘Niyati’.
Dark synth and experimental producer CNJR puts his spin on ‘Niyati’ by il:lo, out 10 April 2020 on Future Archive Recordings. The remix fuses il:lo’s classic downtempo and chillwave aesthetic with CNJR’s darker and retro synth driven palette. Starting out with a more ambient soundscape than the original track, and building to a drop that incorporates new and additional sounds. ‘Niyati’ was originally released on il:lo’s latest EP ‘Sloh’, out now on Future Archive Recordings.
Blockhead, the veteran hip-hop producer and beat-maker, released his most recent LP ‘Bubble Bath’ in late 2019 on Future Archive Recordings. Now, one of the label co-founders and the synth-driven, dark electronic producer CNJR, has taken the single ‘Life Support’ and put a unique spin on it. Originally a laid back, mostly instrumental, hip-hop beat seemingly perfect for sinking into the couch with your favorite alterative, now carries CNJR’s self-described ‘weirdo music’ sound, exploring a more energetic palette with retro synths coloring the melody.
